Participating in consultation on UK Industrial Heat Recovery Support Programme

The Knowldge Transfer Network (KTN) hosted the last of three consultations in Cardiff on Tuesday, for the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) for their Industrial Heat Recovery Support (IHRS) Programme.

Dwr Uisce were represented at the event to better understand how this could promote energy recovery in Wales, identify the stakeholders involved in the energy recovery sector, and what the demonstration of energy recovery through the programme will look like.

The programme is set to open in 2018 and £18 million will be made available for two stages of proposals: £6m for Stage 1 Feasibility and £12m for demonstration. The project will support business and industry of different sizes and scales in England and Wales, and there is clear scope for energy recovery across a range of sectors.

It is hoped that this will support less financially viable projects to deliver energy recovery and support Welsh business and industry to become more sustainable, saving energy and reducing associated greenhouse gas emissions
