The Dwr-Uisce team has been evaluating various energy recovery sites in south Leinster

Aiming at identifying suitable demo-sites for testing micro-hydropower technology in real water supply systems. The Dwr-Uisce team has been evaluating some pipe networks represented by National Federation of Group Water Schemes (NFGWS).

One example is the Ballinbranna GWS for which the team had the chance to meet the network managers in a field trip and visit some specific sites of the network, like the raw water tank or some pressure-reducing valves (see picture bellow). A feasibility study has been carried out to assess the micro-hydropower energy potential in the network.

Our work features in a recent press release article in the latest NFGWS newsletter.
